Have you ever wondered how to debug a Windows program that’s crashed?

Here’s a trick to help with debugging crashes when you do not have Visual Studio installed. You can generate a core dump directly from Task Manager.

Basically, run Task Manager, right-click the process, and select “Create Dump File”. You can do this after a process has already crashed, but before you close it (when it gives you the dialog to report the error).
