I was reading an interesting article by Stephen Swoyer @ TDWI entitled "Studies in Scale: Updated Processor Can Take Analytics to New Heights".  Stephen talks about how a lot of companies such as Teradata are using Intel chips in their systems and how the Nehalem processors from Intel are going to impact the solutions from companies like Teradata.  In reality, 64-bit processing and in-memory technologies are really coming into their own as can be seen in solutions from companies like Oracle, QlikTech, SAP, Teradata.  An interesting article that is worth reading.
