Vancouver, Canada and Perth, Australia – December 13, 2011 – Simba Technologies Inc., the industry expert on relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity, announced today that it has licensed its MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP software product to Essatto Software. Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP product will connect Microsoft Excel with the Essatto framework built upon an Oracle Database platform. Essatto customers gain the flexibility to use Excel to view, manipulate and report on powerful financial analyses generated within their Essatto solutions.

Essatto will bundle and sell Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP product with its range of BI solutions designed for consolidating and analyzing historical financial data, forecasting and preparing standardized reports. Essatto’s Excel view will be powered by Simba’s product.

“The Essatto framework provides powerful, pre-built analyses and reports from data stored within an Oracle Database OLAP Option cube,” said Amyn Rajan, Simba’s CEO. “Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP is ideally paired with Essatto to allow users to view and perform further ad hoc data exploration and analysis within Excel. The Excel solution further extends Essatto’s popular analytic capabilities – especially in functional areas where deep ad hoc analysis is often needed, such as finance.”

“Essatto undertook an extensive global search for a solution that would allow end users to connect Excel to our multi-dimensional application, and we were pleased to have found Simba whose product during our evaluation satisfied all of our key criteria and significantly outperformed the alternatives,” said Guy Ioppolo, Managing Director of Essatto Software. “Simba has simplified and strengthened the link between Excel and Essatto’s underlying Oracle data cube for better integration from database interface to spreadsheet output. Our customers gain greater flexibility to explore, manipulate and report on key financial analyses generated by their Essatto solutions.”

Using the solution, spreadsheet users no longer need to extract data manually for further ad hoc analysis. Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP product provides direct, hot connectivity from Excel to the singular instance of Essatto data within the underlying Oracle OLAP data store. By combining the rapid deployment of Oracle OLAP provided by Essatto with the Excel connectivity to the OLAP layer delivered by Simba, users gain fast, up-to-date access for accurate ad hoc analysis and reporting within a secure environment.

The solution is available from Essatto now. More information is available at: www.essatto.com/olap.html.
