Vancouver, BC – July 20, 2011 – Simba Technologies Inc., the industry’s source for standards-based relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity solutions, announced today the release of SimbaProvider OLAP SDK 4.4. SimbaProvider OLAP SDK enables quick and easy development of high-performance OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO) and XML for Analysis (XMLA) data providers that connect popular Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics products like IBM Cognos, Microsoft Excel and SAP BusinessObjects to data sources.
The addition of XMLA support over a 64-bit web service allows for much greater performance and scalability, utilizing the full bandwidth and all of the memory in new 64-bit servers and operating systems that are gaining ubiquity within the marketplace. The OLAP SDK also includes all of the components needed to build a 32-bit and a 64-bit ODBO data provider, as well as Simba’s 32-bit and 64-bit MDX query language engines. The toolkit provides software developers with a full set of components and comprehensive documentation for implementing a complete OLAP/MDX solution. Simba’s expert product engineers are also available to readily provide assistance, if needed.
“Native 64-bit XMLA support adds to the already tremendous flexibility and implementation options that SimbaProvider SDK customers have to build out data connectivity within their BI and data warehouse products,” said David Foster, Vice President of Engineering at Simba Technologies. “SimbaProvider SDK is the only solution available in the market that provides a complete range of 32-bit and 64-bit support for XMLA, ODBO and MDX. It’s the solution that’s used by key industry vendors such as Infor, Kognitio, Oracle, SAP, Teradata and many others for multi-dimensional support within their products.”
Other notable new features in SimbaProvider OLAP SDK 4.4 include:
- Up to 15% performance improvement in cell retrieval of ODBO providers;
- Added support for Visual Studio 2010-based data provider development;
