Vancouver, BC – June 24, 2010 – Simba Technologies Inc., industry’s choice for standards-based relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity, announced today the release of SimbaEngine ODBC SDK 8.0.2 for easy development of ODBC, JDBC, OLE DB or ADO.NET data connectivity to both SQL-enabled and non-SQL data stores.

SimbaEngine ODBC SDK 8.0.2 includes a number of enhancements to client/server robustness for easy implementation of performance oriented, scalable ODBC drivers and JDBC drivers within a web services data environment.

SimbaEngine ODBC SDK also notably includes Simba’s new Java Data Store Interface (DSI), giving users the option to implement a data driver written entirely in Java. The SDK continues to also be offered in C++ variants. Both code bases include Simba’s straightforward sample data drivers, comprehensive development and test tools, and extensive documentation to enable quick and easy, custom ODBC data driver development in as little as five days.

“When we wished to add a standards-based ODBC data interface to our high-performance database product – based entirely in Java – we looked to Simba to provide the connectivity,” said Laurence Malroux, CEO of Panoratio. “Panoratio’s revolutionary technology enables organizations to quickly analyze extremely complex data structures – resulting in response times within the range of seconds on even the most complex datasets. Only Simba could deliver the performance conscious ODBC and SQL capabilities we sought. Simba understands data and really is the data connectivity expert.”

SimbaEngine ODBC SDK supports the ODBC 3.52 specification, providing the utmost compatibility with the newest and most popular business intelligence applications. In addition, the SDK is fully Unicode compliant, which means that data drivers built with the SDK are capable of supporting multi-language data and applications, enabling them to be used or sold worldwide. Furthermore, the SDK fully supports both 32-bit and 64-bit data driver development with the added ability to mix-and-match 32-bit and 64-bit client and server components for the utmost deployment flexibility.

“SimbaEngine ODBC SDK 8.0.2 is the most scalable, performance-oriented and complete toolkit available for building ODBC drivers, JDBC drivers, OLE DB drivers and ADO.NET data providers for SQL-enabled and non-SQL data sources,” said Amyn Rajan, Simba’s CEO. “This latest release focuses heavily on enhancements to build even more robust data connectivity for cloud computing or web services-oriented architectures – whether that be in Java or more traditionally C++.”

SimbaEngine ODBC SDK is available for data driver development on Windows, UNIX, Linux or Mac platforms.
