Vancouver, BC – November 15, 2011 – Simba Technologies, the industry leader in relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity products, announced today that it will match gifts (up to $50,000) to the annual Simba Technologies Inc. Scholarship in Computing Sciences at Simon Fraser University, which funds scholarships to female undergraduate students in Computing Science.
“Supporting educational development and future technology leaders is incredibly important to us,” said Amyn Rajan, Simba’s CEO and a Computing Science alumnus. “Simba recruits many SFU graduates and provides co-op work experience opportunities to students. We know how much financial assistance can mean to gaining the best education. We challenge others to share in our vision of encouraging female students to enter computer science by contributing to this fund and we will match their generous gifts.”
“Gifts such as Simba’s help to position SFU Applied Sciences as one of North America’s top schools in computing and engineering,” said Nimal Rajapakse, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science at SFU. “The development of awards to attract top students is crucial to our success. We encourage others to get involved and make use of Simba’s generous offer to match donor contributions.”
