Note: This article only applies to drivers built using the SimbaEngine SDK that use the Simba SQLEngine.

Generic names are supplied by the SQLEngine to columns that do not already have a name. For example, expressions and unnamed columns will have a name supplied. If your table columns are being given a generic name, this likely means that the column metadata hasn’t been set up correctly.

To resolve this, check where the columns are created for your DSIExtResultSet subclass, and ensure that your DSIColumnMetadata objects have their m_name and m_label fields set. In addition, ensure that the m_unnamed field is set to false. Even if the m_name and m_label fields are set but the m_unnamed field is set to true, the column will appear as unnamed and have a name supplied by the SQLEngine.
